Happy Sunday! Here I am at #80 on the Sunday Ambient posts. Wow. Hard to believe I’ve managed to do this weekly since starting this sonic journey. I’m enjoying myself, so the journey continues.
More fun with my sampler today, which provides the raindrop sounds. I also experimented with some percussive sounds in unconventional ways. FM synthesized sounds were run through a resonator. A drum pattern was sliced to tiny grains and played back for some interesting ambient noise. Grab your headphones and check it out.

There’s kind of a lot going on here. The Black Sequencer is providing all the frequency CV and gates. Pam’s is acting as a clock divider for the sequencer’s clock. The divided clock provides bass drum gate to QD. Plaits is doing various FM sounds that are rotated with modulation. Plaits out is run through Maths for envelope and Tangle Quartet for VCA, going into Rings in. Lots of subtle modulation on various things. STS plays the rain drop sounds. Morphagene is playing back previously recorded drums that have been granulated. Mimeophon does the delay and FX Aid does the reverb.
